Day 2 of #30NitesOfCode! Finished about 80% of the beginner's course for Python. @codedex_io has made learning coding so much more fun and easier. 😮💨💞x.com/meenal_mech/status/1882314421470638226/photo/1x.com/meenal_mech/status/1882314421470638226/photo/1x.com/meenal_mech/status/1882314421470638226/photo/1

Alan Geirnaert
Full-Stack Developer Intern @ App'ines | Codédex Winter Hackathon Winner
Six months ago, a little bit before turning 24, I decided to quit my job and delve into the dev world, not knowing anything about coding.
Six months ago, I changed my life for the best.
I worked as a sales assistant for 2 years, knowing it wouldn't last forever but still unsure what I wanted to do in my life. When I started learning HTML and CSS through both Codédex courses, I discovered a new passion, a new love.
But it was only after discovering Python (tried Data Science before branching off entirely towards Web Development) and then JavaScript a few days later that I knew I had found my true passion.
I wake up through coding, I breath through coding, I spend my day through coding and I go to sleep through coding (I sometimes even sleep through coding - hello buggy nightmares 👋).
And now, six months later, I can proudly say I'm enrolled in a BSc. Software Development and found my internship, where I'm feeling better than I've ever been ! If somebody told me I would have earned such an achievement in my life back half a year ago, I would've laughed all day-night.
So, to everyone still struggling finding their passions, please remember something : you've got plenty of time. Don't rush it. If you don't find your way, it will be coming at you somehow.
You know what they say : Trust. The. Process.

Before this year finishes I would like to thank Codédex for hosting a Hackathon that I participated in! I knew I wouldn't win because I literally know nothing about coding but it was a really cool experience. Thank you to Sonny Li, Naomi Lee, Asiqur Rahman, Lillian M., Estrella Popoca, Dharmarajsinh Jethva, and Jackie Liu for speaking at this event and teaching me and other new coders how to start with coding because I honestly had no idea what I was doing (if my future employers are watching this...I knew everything I was doing), it was a stressful 48 hours but the people who spoke at the event made it easier. The discord was also very helpful.
The light pink website was what I wanted to make, but I was not skilled enough to build it in the 48-hour time period (again if my future employers are watching, I have an abundant set of skills). I coded on Codedex, but I think it was my computer because it looked like everything was centered but everything leaned to the right and up when I looked at the website. When I tried fixing the dimensions some of the objects of the website build would disappear. I only used 5 images because that's what was allowed in the Codedex build. But I am not complaining because coding on Codedex was so much easier than using Visual Studio Code.
This experience made me believe in myself in challenges that made me uncomfortable and even though I almost gave up, I pushed through! I even have a virtual badge that I don't really know how to put on my LinkedIn, but it definitely makes me feel accomplished! Again thank you to everyone who contributed to this huge project (I saw the process on Instagram, it looked very stressful), and thank you to Codedex for making it accessible to everyone by making it free and online!

There’s still (a little!) time to keep that New Year’s resolution.
🤓 Learn how to code in Python, HTML/CSS, or JavaScript with Codédex.

So inspired by @codedex_io! It's a wonderful, playful platform designed to help a new generation learn to code. (And it was prototyped & tested out on @Glitch!) Go vote it up on @ProductHunt so more folks can discover it. Congrats to the team on launching! producthunt.com/posts/codedex
If you have a kid and they are techy - @codedex_io is incredible. It's a well-designed Python learning platform and they have workshops (which my kid did and now he is more employable than I ever was at 12...) twitter.com/codedex_io/status/1562150478938603526
👩💻 INTERESTED TO LEARN YOUR 10+ YEAR OLD TO CODE?
I recently discovered Codédex and got hooked from the first minute. It's a brand new (and FUN!) learn to code platform for kids + adults alike.
With NP-Hard Ventures we invest in product-obsessed founders creating the building blocks of tomorrow, and Codédex is just that; their mission is to empower the next generation of builders and dreamers to build meaningful, paradigm-shifting software/hardware for our planet earth, and they do so in a very inclusive way.
Today, they're launching on Product Hunt. I'd highly recommend to check it out, and if you love it as much as I do, support them by giving it an upvote!

Sonny Li & team Codédex, all the best with the today! 🚀
