The Design Management track at Coho was a fantastic resource for me when I was making the switch from IC. The talks were relevant, down to earth, and inclusive. Hey, I am Lavet, a service designer from Nairobi, Kenya. I currently work for an organisation called African Leadership Group ( ALG) designing experiences for over 50K learners coming into our training programs and community. I enjoy designing hybrid( physical and digital) experiences for people. Coho has been my go-to community when I feel stuck at work, Cohorians( just made this up lol) will never not have an answer to your difficult questions; this has made my work life so much easier and fun. I know, I sound like a broken telephone but this has to be said, I have never been in a community that has so much top talent; everyone is so smart, humble and excited about design. Honestly, I can't remember much, but I recall feeling alone, feeling like the challenges that I was experiencing at work were unique to me, which was obviously a huge career setback since I spent so much time worrying about blockers instead of moving forward and getting things done. If you are a designer looking to get into leadership, then Coho is your community. You will have access to design leaders with immense experience and knowledge about the industry. You will also have access to a community of high-quality designers from a diverse spectrum. This is literally a big plus especially if you are looking to add more value at work.
