Hi everyone! I had to leave a review to say how much I am enjoying dev30. When I first started I was concerned that I wouldn't have enough collaboration and help when I got stuck. Thankfully Aaron Hayslip thought through the curriculum very well and he included all the advantages that I would need to be successful. He made sure to encourage teamwork and he also Included videos, exercises and plenty of ways to reach out in case I get stuck. Thanks Aaron!

Dev30 is a great course that helped me polish my Javascript skills. I came in with some coding experience hoping to better myself. The course is set up for people who has never coded. There are a lot of step by step tutorials that will help you build a foundation to move you toward the next level. The projects given in each module help you understand and utilize different concepts. It's one thing to watch and follow a tutorial, it's something else to actually code what you just learned. And dev30 does just that.

I've had such a great experience with dev30 so far (and I'm only halfway done!). I started this course with zero knowledge of JavaScript, but have felt super comfortable with the pace and scope of the course the whole way through. Aaron breaks the coursework up into really manageable bite-sized pieces that he explains clearly with super helpful instructional videos. The dev30 Slack channel is another really helpful resource, and everyone stays very active! The weekly live-classrooms are another great opportunity to ask questions virtually and work out any points of confusion. I'm very glad I signed up for dev30 and I would recommend it to anyone interested in learning JavaScript!

Going into dev30 I was not sure what to expect. I had absolutely zero experience writing code and was pretty much walking in blind. Now being a few weeks in, I can honestly say that it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. Not only are we learning the fundamentals of JavaScript, but we are also learning how to set ourselves for the most success during this program and well after. Before we even touched any code we spent an entire week setting goals, creating healthy habits, and reworking our schedules so that we could learn how to focus. I think more than anything I have learned how to prioritize and break through distractions. This has given me the energy, space, and time to invest in learning this skill. I could not recommend dev30 more highly. If you are looking into learning how to write code. This is the absolute best place to start.

Even though I started to learn JavaScript one month before I discovered this program, I decided to enroll and didn’t regret it. Since it’s a self-paced program, I managed to put it in my schedule in a way that learning doesn’t get overwhelming. The course curriculum is quite interesting, it’s not focused just on the programming language. You get access to an amazing podcast, encouraging words from Aaron and some real-life stories is something you need while you are in this process of learning. The other great thing is – posting on LinkedIn, it was a very scary thing for me but once I did that first step (first post) and connected with other members of the program, the feeling was great! Now I post, comment, and get in discussions on LinkedIn without any shame of not knowing something, because if someone corrects your thinking about a specific thing – you learn something more! All in all, the #dev30 program is for everyone! Whether you are an experienced JavaScript developer or just at the very first beginning, this program is for you. You will gain more knowledge, network, and schedule your time properly.

I'm a little over halfway through dev30 and have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. I think that it's a great resource for anyone looking to jump into not only javascript, but the coding mindset as a whole. There's obviously the technical work of learning how to write code, but I've been most impressed by the personal aspect of reaching out, posting on LinkedIn, and expanding your network. It's not something I'd automatically think of as being important, but dev30 brings it forth in a relatable way.

This is a very good basic course in JavaScript. Aaron does not just cover the fundamentals of JS but also talks about the mindset that is needed to succeed in this field of work via an easy to listen to podcast. Do not discount the importance of the podcast, it is very down to earth and has cleared away the doubt in my mind about whether or not I can become a successful coder. Thank you Aaron.

As a mainly self-taught developer, the Dev30 program provided some much-needed structure. The structure in the curriculum is fantastic, but the structure it added as a whole to my coding journey is immensely valuable. The lifestyle changes it encourages helped my learning progress significantly, even in programming things unrelated to Dev30! Posting on linked-in as part of the course will help my visibility and helped me build connections that will hopefully assist in my career for my lifetime. If you have the opportunity to take this course, you should even at full price its cheap and an excellent supplement to anyone's learning to program journey!

Dev30 has helped me stay more on track than I have been able to accomplish on my own. I feel more motivated, and confident, in my ability to develop software because of it!

If you are interested in exploring a career in software engineering, or are curious about whether you have what it takes to be a software engineer, I highly recommend taking part in #dev30. Besides the immersion into JavaScript through lectures, tutorials, exercises and projects, you will hear encouragement and advice through the #dev30 podcast, and have the support of your cohort and many resources along the way. This course is a positive for anyone, even if they decide not to pursue software engineering!

I definitely recommend anyone who is trying to learn JavaScript to sign up for dev30. Yes, there are plenty of courses out there that teach you the basics, but dev30 is not like those other courses. One way dev30 sets itself apart is because Aaron is a great teacher and does an excellent job of breaking down the complex parts into concepts anyone can understand. Another way dev30 sets itself apart is by giving its students the tools they need to truly be successful. Before you even do any coding, it shows you how to create a schedule to figure out the times when you can learn. It has you learn in public, where you post about what you have learned each day. In case that part concerns you, practically everyone who was intimidated at the thought of this, but actually followed through with it, was glad that they did. Finally, the course doesn’t just give you challenges to solve, it also teaches you a process of how to approach each challenge, make it manageable, and ensure success. It is all of these tools plus the actual course content that makes dev30 a great choice for anyone wanting to get started in learning to code JavaScript.

Dev30 is a fantastic way to get introduced to JavaScript. As a professional educator, I highly recommend this program due to its organization, planning, and obvious care that has been put into the details and all the support you receive. It's honestly been really hard finding developers who are also good teachers but Aaron pulls it off. It was refreshing and encouraging to see that in this field.

I've enjoyed dev30 a lot. I think it helps you learn quickly, as well as going back to old videos and understand more in detail if you missed something as well. I also like all of the resources that are shared besides this class to be able to understand even more in depth about whatever topic you need to understand. Finally, I particularly enjoy the slack community. I wouldn't have made it nearly as far as I have and as quickly as I have without the friendly people on slack who are willing to help.
