After a 6-month immersive journey, I'm thrilled to announce that I've successfully completed Elizabeth Alli's Product Design Bootcamp at DesignerUp. As someone who was eager to deepen my skills and understanding of UX/UI design, this course has been a game-changer for me.
The curriculum was robust, covering everything from the fundamentals of design thinking to the nitty-gritty of wireframing and prototyping. What impressed me most was the course's focus on current industry trends and best practices, ensuring that we're learning skills that are immediately applicable in the job market.
Elizabeth Alli is a phenomenal instructor. Her deep expertise in the field is evident, not just in her lectures but also in the real-world examples she brings into the classroom. Her teaching style is engaging, and she has a knack for breaking down complex concepts into digestible pieces.
The course was structured in a way that allowed for incremental learning, with each module building on the last. The pacing was just right—challenging yet manageable, ensuring that we were always pushing our boundaries without feeling overwhelmed.
Materials and Resources:
We were provided with a wealth of resources, from textbooks and articles to software tools and templates. These materials served as invaluable references that I continue to consult in my current projects.
One of the highlights of this course was the opportunity to work on real-world projects. I've been able to directly apply the skills I've acquired in my own work, and I'm thrilled to share that I've launched my personal website portfolio. You can check out my first case study to see how I've applied what I've learned.
Areas for Improvement:
While the course was excellent overall, I think there could be more focus on user research methodologies and perhaps more guest lectures from industry experts to provide different perspectives.
In summary, Elizabeth Alli's Product Design bootcamp at DesignerUp has been a transformative experience for me. I wholeheartedly recommend this course to anyone looking to elevate their skills in UX/UI design. And yes, I'm open to feedback on my portfolio—because let's face it, the journey of a designer is always a work in progress!
I'm forever thankful for this in-depth course by DesignerUp I can't wait to apply for my next entry product design job role!
DesignerUp has taught me all the fundamental knowledge and skills of UX/UI and product design that I was missing in my previous education at school.
The community also made me feel very welcomed & supported throughout my project when I encountered difficulties.
These lessons made me think through the design, business and technical decisions with a mindful approach considering what is in people's best interest and mental well-being, which the world needs more of moving forward!
I've learned more in these 24 minutes than in 3 years of university. Thank you so much!
This is one of the best art classes I've ever watched!! Thank you so much for putting this together. High-value tutorial on Colour. Artists, Filmmakers, Graphic Designers, Fashion Designers and all types of visual artists will find this super valuable. A gem.
Thanks so much for this! As an artist sadly lacking in color theory ed.this is a huge help! Also for exploring in more depth my digi art.
The content, visuals, voice over, and background music are on point. It was an effortless, almost hypnotic learning experience.
I'm so happy I clicked on this. Thank you so much for sharing this lesson. Honestly the best 24 minutes spent in my entire life searching for a good color theory explanation!
This was an amazingly well explained color theory! Thank you for your effort, it's a very valuable content.
This video was so helpful. Seeing the colors broken down in this way helped not make delving into creating my own palette as overwhelming. As someone who likes being able to categorize and break things down that way, I appreciate how you shared all the info ! Definitely saving this for future reference!
This is definitely a top masterclass of color harmony & theory, without using empty technical terminology! The examples about how to mix them were just fantastic, as well as the didactic way shown! Thank you for this incredible video!
Seriously, this video is one of the most concise and wonderfully explained that I have seen so far here on YouTube! Great job and thank you very much to share this knowledge with us.
I just want to say that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the changes you have made. I'm thrilled that you have reformatted much of the course into Figma and also the way that now it feels a part of the community section. Thank you!!!
You don't know how you helped me^^Thank you so much!
Very comprehensive review. i am now familiar with the design process, using Design Toolkits and Figma itself, even though i am a complete stranger to it. thank you so much! you are really good at this!
