[BREAKTHROUGH ICU] I enjoyed how compressed this course was and goes over the important basics to start in the ICU. I would appreciate if there were drawings/ images. The language used in this course was very easy to understand. I have not started out in the ICU just yet, but if there were images on what the ventilator looks like, what the swan/ pa catheters look like, it'd be great. I understand this course is designed for a range of nursing knowledge, new grad to non-critical care experience, however, the main parts of the ICU that I feel are so different from transferring from med/surg to ICU, are the monitoring equipments, hemodynamic values, and ICU IV drips/ meds. If these sections could be focused on and expanded more, I think we would be much more prepared for the ICU.

The Master RN class helped me navigate through my 1st 6 months as a nurse who works on the ortho/med surg floor. I gained valuable insight and utilized many of the tips from the course. I recommend it to anyone who is just starting out as a new nurse. I plan to check out other courses as I feel the content is fully relatable.

[BREAKTHROUGH ICU] Starting in the ICU was a terrifying step for me. I had always wanted to work in the ICU but the concepts and skills around that were very scary for me. This course helped to soften the blow of the complexity of the ICU environment, helped me learn to be compassionate towards myself and reminded me that it's okay to not know things. Just finished "Nursing Report Basics." Even as a seasoned nurse, I love these review courses from Kati's perspective--I always pick up something new that I can use. Nursing Skills Refresh - worth your time! After a long winter break I realized I was getting nervous about jumping back into clinicals. Although geared for the new nursing student, as a 4th semester student I still found it incredibly helpful. The videos are in nice, manageable chunks, and it's like getting the inside scoop from your big sisters.

[NEURO WISE] I loved this course it was easy to navigate and I gained so much knowledge on a variety of neuro topics!

[ECG RHYTHM MASTER] I liked that the course is self-paced. I was able to take it on my time and dedicate the time and energy I needed to be successful in this course. I liked that if I did not understand a concept right away or was not understanding a rhythm I could go back and listen to the audio again with the bonus material to solidify a better understanding of what I was trying to learn.

[MED-SURG MINDSET] This was a very thorough course for a new RN like me who started on a med-surg floor. I appreciated the great detail that went into making this course. I loved the handouts and will continue to use them in the future for quick reference.

I went throught the Hired course and wasn't sure at first if it would help. I'm more of a mediocre job interviewee mainly due to nerves during the interview process. I can say without a doubt that this course helped me become more confident during the interview process. I felt like I was more professional as well as able to show them who I am as a nurse during the interview and while job shadowing. Be sure to follow through with a thank you email! My grandpa also told me "the squeaky wheel gets the oil" but I never knew how to do that without looking like I was annoying. This course helped show how while being professional!

This course was amazing and really helped me understand my post-stroke patients better! I work in a critical care step-down unit and we see many conscious stroke patients. Before taking this course, I was unaware that peak swelling after an ischemic stroke is day 3. Now I have a better understanding of what to expect from my conscious post-stroke patients as well as what an abnormal neuro assessment looks like!

[MED-SURG MINDSET] I found the course very helpful to my newbie nurse practice especially after losing time in clinical from COVID during school. [ICU DRIPS FOR BEGINNERS] I have been helped with condensing ICU knowledge. I have only yet completed the titratable drips course but, the way it was presented has helped me feel more confident and given me a good resource to return back to. So much ICU knowledge is hard to Google and get a clear answer, and it certainly isn't taught directly in nursing school because it is a specialty. I'm glad I have something to help me get the basics and teach me at my level.

I purchased “telemetry brush up,” and this really helped me break down multiple subjects one at a time. As I just graduated and was hired for telemetry, I was apprehensive but figured this was just another test I have to nail. FreshRN really helped me grasp an overview of the basic info, addressed common fears I had (I’ll never be good enough, what if I don’t understand what I’m doing? Etc) and reminded me along the way, it’s ok and to focus on ‘X’ before diving into ‘Y’. Will be purchasing other products in the near future. I’m glad to have found you on YouTube.

I would 100% recommend Breakthrough ICU. It targets especially new nurses coming into the ICU. Ashley and Kati address all the important concepts to know as a new nurse in the ICU. You don't feel like your head is going to explode because the information is presented in a way that is concise and only what you should REALLY know as a new nurse is addressed! They talk also about soft skills, self compassion. They really help you prepare mentally for what is ahead!

I'm 4 weeks off of orientation in the ED and had my first experience with Afib with RVR a couple nights ago. It was chaotic for me because I didn't fully grasp what was happening. I knew it was an extremely urgent matter, but I had little understanding about the pathophysiology of Afib with RVR and the treatments to be ordered. This mini course really opened my eyes to the WHY it's urgent. Kati breaks down a complex topic into an easy to understand analogy, which I'm certain I'm going to be able to retain. I'm slightly more confident how that I'll be able to go into my next Afib with RVR with a little more ease. THANK YOU!

I'm a RN on a surgical ICU step-down unit with about 1.5 years of experience. During nursing school I precepted in CVICU and was a nurse apprentice in CCU. My experience in those units gave me a great introduction to managing all of the different drips, but this course was a great, succinct resource for a quick "introductory refresher."

I really appreciated the personal anecdotes and recommendations on substance use disorder, discharge planning for complex cases (ie., patients without an address), and end of life care, especially because these topics were not thoroughly reviewed or taught in nursing school. You provided real world experiences as bedside nurses that provided more context into what med-surg nursing is all about. The whole course was thorough and I learned new things that I will definitely apply in my nursing practice. The end of life care really hit home for me, especially because I have had several comfort care patients and my grandfather is currently on hospice. I wish I had completed this course before my first year as a med-surg nurse. Overall, I feel more prepared in having completed this course. Thank you so much for creating this website and developing these courses so thoughtfully. I am so grateful!

[NEURO WISE] Most recently, I was able to detect a pupillary change in my patient that was likely related to over-sedation. Nonetheless, I escalated care, advocating for my patient and clarifying the patient’s actual RASS score as compared to what had been documented. Understanding the importance of obtaining an accurate baseline neurological assessment empowers me to communicate all findings to the team. All of the FreshRN courses are helpful and encouraging. Kati Kleber and her colleagues share must know information that may be otherwise challenging to learn during orientation. You can also go back to the lessons at any time to review course content, and preparation is ultimately the key to becoming a competent and safe nurse.

I just wanted to take a moment and write to you that I am really enjoying the A fib email course. I have been an RN for just over two years and started my career on a tele unit. Due to the COVID pandemic, our unit has seen an increase in med surg overflow patients and the result has been less emphasis on cardiac centered education for new grads. Your paid courses and email courses have been so helpful to me in filling those educational gaps. I love how you can break the topic down into manageable pieces and cut straight to the most ‘need to know’ information to take care of patients. Hi Kati! I took the Nursing Report Basics course and I absolutely loved it. It helped me understand what the purpose of report actually is and what you should be focusing on when giving report. As a new grad nurse finding out what you should be focusing on when giving report makes it so much easier. Knowing what to focus on also makes it smoother when giving report to the oncoming nurse. I love how you have a video and you also sum up the points for the video because I am a visual and auditory learner.
