This course is really well put together. With the knowledge gained via curated lessons, plenty of notebooks of usable code and even a few strategies to play around with, I feel I've fast tracked by quant finance journey significantly. Watching how a professional like Jason focuses on statistical testing over optimising returns has been the biggest take away.

The biggest unlock is the scientific method framework for developing trading strategies. Further, the understanding that statistical significance is key over direct returns a strategy shows in a backtest.

- The course helped me to learn new tools that are validated by quants and specially developed for the quant finance purpose. The course provided targeted examples so really relevant for anyone desiring to have their hands dirty. Especially, i followed a algorithmic trading course before from a well-known university but it kept being theorical. Python for quant finance combined both theorical and practical knowledge - No BS and just Python and Python again. - Not everything is given and you will have to work for some lessons but it was a great way to learn more Python coding and scale my modules knowledge.

1) The course is awesome, clarifying the pipeline to build an mvp to trade in IB, very useful. 2) My assumption before the course was that to trade I collecta bunch of data and apply number crunching and I will be a zillionare :D Jason taught me how this really works. 3) I now have a great understanding how all the "parts" works together and got loads of very useful python code

I came into the course with extensive finance experience and minimal python experience. The course provided a fantastic tasting menu of the primary components of a python quant stack. This made the python learning experience much more engaging and I uncovered the areas that will benefit most from my focus going forward.

My main takeaway is that there is a practical way to approach tasks with a focus on results (I really loved the MVP concept). After going through numerous courses and making it halfway through my Master's program, I finally have something that works. I’ve realized that I tend to overcomplicate things, when there’s often a simpler way to implement everything I’ve been thinking about. 🙂

1. The biggest way the course has helped me is by giving me a roadmap, python quant stack and the MVP python. There was focus when it comes to python. The stack leaves no room for exploration when it comes to tools. This is a very very solid quant stack. Through the live lessons I now have a roadmap to my goal. 2. This course has helped unlocking outcomes because of the focus with which certain concepts are covered and equipping us with the right tools. Other courses that I have taken either lack focus or cover the concepts and leave the exploration of the right tools to us. Either way I felt lost. With this course I now have a vision of what are my gaps, tools req to get the job done and how do I get to my final goal 3. The unexpected benefit has to be the community. Jason is himself very active on the community and there is an assurance that if I come across any problem in my journey then I could turn to the community and Jason for help.

This was by far the best trading class I have ever taken. I started my journey 15 years ago with technical analysis and worked my way up to Algo trading using other tools. Independently I learned python in the last few years and have been running a small hedge fund where I do most things. Jason's class fit the bill in terms of pulling things together for me. ROI was amazing; ~1K for all this info is fantastic. Jason's ability to communicate complex issues in a way that is consumable makes the difference. In particular the methods for evaluating factors and running testing on them was very useful. Thanks Jason!

This is the best course to kick start learning Python in quant finance space, great value for money and sets you up nicely for success. Return on investment is much higher for the amount of learning, free resources, life time access which we get in this course. I am pretty sure this course is going to have positive impact on my professional goal of upskilling myself and apply theory into practice based on framework and notebook provided in this course.

The course helped me to put in practice many concepts in quant finance that are not that simple to implement. Jason guidance was pretty useful and focused on real matters. Being able to connect using Python to my interactive brokers account was amazing and this is something I did not think was not even possible and simple. The difference this course makes is that it is 100% applied to real situations in quant finance!!!

Both a concise and thorough presentation of actual use cases for Python from a practitioner's perspective. I had very little prior experience with Python and have yet to find a better place to start. The course is also easy to follow if you are unable to view the sessions live.

The course definitely helped me get started in quant finance, not only with advanced Python templates and explained code but also, more importantly, with some concepts and professional approaches to trading that I hadn’t explored before. The information provided was too much to absorb in just a few weeks. I’m sure I’ll still find more jewels after dedicating more time to reviewing and analysing the classes and practising with the notebooks. I think I can use the Chinese proverb “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime” to describe the main difference between Jason’s course and other mainstream educators on trading. This course gave me the tools and pointed out some new techniques that I can use to explore and design my ideas. The most unexpected benefit for me was all the resources added to the “The Recipe Book”. It included many posts with videos and notebooks ready to download, covering options, portfolio construction, risk management and general trading. It is a tremendous and growing space to keep learning after we finish the cohort.

Jason's course simplified a lot of the process for me and really showed me the possbilities of what can be done, especially from the perspective of backtesting frameworks and quickly testing ideas. It really helps to see how they are used and most importantly that I dont need to build them from scratch. Even though I was putting actual trades on before, being able to formalize the process of testing is crucial when you plan to take trading seriously. All the resources and community also helped spark new ideas for finding edge and realising that edge can be expressed in multiple ways.

I really liked the materials of the cohort, the structure and for sure your support. Jason is always willing to help and provide dedicated support. I was all the year 2023 completing other on line platform courses and it was hard to me to move on and use python for ideas in trading. The cohort provided the proper guidance to install and set up my quant stack, to start using it on a MVP, a great community to continue learning from others ideas and gain momentum. Finally, mentorship and Jason experience is a great value added if you are outside of finance world.

Python for quant finance gave me the foundation to move my trading to another level. What I learned will undoubtedly help me scale and accelerate my skills as a trader and investor. I don't think I fully understood what a superpower Python and Quantitative analysis could be before taking the course.

- How has the course helped you get started with Python for quant finance? I had some experience with quants a while ago, at the time I used Matlab. My work experience subsequently was mostly around what I capture "slow finance" (IB, PE, VC). I am leaning more to what I call "fast finance" now (where time series data influences decision-making: i.e. trading, commodities) and imagined there must be a better way to learn and apply this. Python for quant finance provides the thinking, tools and practice to not only get started, but to ramp up very quickly. - Why has this course unlocked outcomes for you when others have failed? Many other materials and courses focus on code and tricks. This course provides practical steps to create value quickly. Jason has a term called Minimum Viable Python: i.e. get the most basic code to solve the problem firstly, then iterate and improve later. That way the distance from idea to practice is very short which accelerates learning and keeps everyone engaged. Jason provides a short list of robust libraries for the tasks at hand. He removes the guessing game, and supports you to get value quickly. - What was one unexpected benefit of taking the course? When you generally read about quants, the bias leans towards complicated algos etc. Jason focuses so much on the thinking part. Think about what you are trying to do, build the "algo" firstly in your mind, by paper etc, then and only then should you type out a line of code. He also focuses so much on mastering the fundamentals (Numpy, Pandas etc) as it makes everything else easier. Jason has been at this for a very long time, has done this is the real world, and he shares practical experience that is useful for everyone. Additionally, the cohort is extremely diverse (in age, experience, location) and it is very interactive as we also learn from and support each other. There is also a ton of practical and curated resources for both during and after the program. We also had accomplished speakers from industry invited to speak during the program and share their knowledge and experience. If you are looking to not just get started, but also thrive in the world of python for quant finance, I highly recommend this course. You get competent, you get confident, you create results quickly, and you save time. Barely two weeks into the course, I was already applying my learnings at work.

Joining the 'Getting Started With Python for Quant Finance' course opened my eyes. I used to think quant finance was all about automation, like a robot doing everything, but this course revealed the true complexity and potential of the field. It was direct and showed the truth about quant finance unlike others. Surprisingly, it also gave me tools that I can use not only in quant finance but in my current job too, teaching me a lot of new things.

- in the time in which the cohort develops you can get a lot of knowledge and very useful tools that you may not know them or if you know them in other sites do not give you the material or the facility to access and deepen it, as a beginner this world can be very dense but Jason shares everything in a very digestible way but without settling for only basic information as it provides much material and knowledge which can be used by each of us to engage as quantitative traders. - this course unlocks this type of results mainly because at no time does Jason mention a magic formula or secret strategy that will make you earn mountains of money immediately, he makes you see things as they should be and the course is developed in a different way and testing everything he seeks to emphasize. - I was pleasantly surprised that all the material is at our disposal and that we also have the cordiality of the circle community which is always willing to help.

My trading journey began in 2016. Subsequently, I embarked on the algo trading path in 2019. So, I had a decent amount of Python prior to entering the cohort. During my journey, I've come across some really good courses and a lot of bad ones. So, if I am able to learn one thing from a course that I did not know previously, I consider that a success. With respect to Jason's course, although several of the topics aren't of any interest to me presently, I was able to take away one crucial gem from one of the course's Jupyter notebooks. Ironically enough, it was a notebook that had a link that pointed to one of his free articles. Go figure. Additionally, the Interactive Brokers (IB) API live session was pretty good. And I say this as someone who struggled for over two years to understand the framework. His IB API session was a good complement to my existing working knowledge of the framework. I won't be joining any further cohorts, because I believe I got what I needed from the course. All in all, Jason's course is really good for its nominal asking price and the information it offers. If you are contemplating enrolling in the course, keep in mind that no course is a "one stop shop." That means that after 30 days, you probably won't be able to deploy a strategy and start raking in cash. However, it can serve as a solid step along your journey. The journey continues...

I wrote a testimonial after my first cohort, and I'm now back to write another after just finishing my second cohort. This time around, Jason took what many of his students asked for and embedded more coding pertaining to trading than in the previous cohorts. He gave us real life examples and taught us the proper way to think about quant finance. I have a long way to go, but I plan on sticking with this course for all future cohorts. Sign up for a course because you will not be disappointed.

Purchasing this course is a favor to yourself if you want to learn a simplified system for quantitative finance from A-Z. This course blends financial theory and computer science seamlessly, there was no wasted time in lectures or code output. I'm excited to test my ideas practically because I've learned how to apply them. Unlike other courses, Jason, the host, stands out with his extensive knowledge and effort in teaching. Every question was answered in detail, and I picked up the material quickly due to its simple approach in creating strategies through code. You don't have to be an expert; the course provides a clear process. The rest depends on your imagination and hard work.

I am using Tradingview's stock screener to pick the stock and indicator to plan my buy and sell strategy. After attending this course, we could use python to do auto trading instead of manually. In this course, i learn a lot of quant finance like quant stack, backtesting, MVP, Alpha Factor, Zipline reloaded, vectorbt and etc. Is a good start for me, and need to plan out how to start it, especially the strategy algorithm, backtesting (zipline reloaded, vectorbt, portfolio optimization and automation it.

This cohort based class is full of content with information you'd usually spend years looking for. Having been here, with an experienced and trustworthy algorithmic trader, I learned how to do it from A to Z, in a month. Now I just need to practice a lot more. But I feel blessed to have crossed Jason's path. Just look at the information he shares on his platforms (Linkedin, X), if this doesn't make you feel like you're missing out, let me tell you, you are.

Jasons "Getting Started With Python for Quant Finance" is an immersive format to get you up to speed in the modern quant finance stack. In the first prep-week you install the necessary ecosystem for your own quant-lab. Within a 4 week journey (workbooks, live-sessions including code-along etc) you get introduced in the basics like Python & MVP-Mindset and the major tools (OpenBB, AlphaLens, Zipline, etc). Further Jasons opens up the the next steps for your own journey, like using realtime data, optimizing strategies with vector databases and utilizing LLMs. I feel really equipped now to roll up my sleeves, ideating my MVPs and start building (and automating).

I'm Jeff G. Months ago, when I realized automating data collection and backtesting trading strategies was no longer a luxury but an essential, I plunged into learning C++ and Python. With no coding experience - a miserable and frustrating failure. Then I discovered Jason and Python for Quant Finance - a solution of resources, community and mentorship. This week, I modeled and priced IV, Theta and Delta on an $ES_F options Straddle. If you'd like to use my experience to escape the expensive repetition of failures, and join a program that catapults your skills to solving the solutions you seek, contact them now.

Jason's course on entering the world of quantitative finance through python has been revolutionary to my foundation. As he explains in introductory videos, there are millions of results to getting started with python. In this course, we are given straight forward goals to aspire to, with a problem solving approach. I now use a multitude of features and libraries installed through the course to assist me in due diligence, risk analysis, and investment strategies. I highly recommend this course more for anyone new to quant finance and python, and to traders looking to find further avenues of generating alpha in analysis!

Getting Started with Python for Quant Finance is without a doubt the best money I've spent in order to further my trading career. Jason is an amazing teacher. He's responsive, thoughtful when composing answers to his student's questions, and always prepared. The time and effort he puts into creating the course (which is constantly evolving) shows just how much he wants his students to succeed. I already signed up for a second round of the course.

My journey diverged from the cohort's norm due to my background as a developer with limited trading exposure. What came naturally to others required intentional contemplation for me to grasp. While this could have led to frustration, the supportive community was always at hand to answer my questions, alleviating any sense of stagnation. At the course's outset, I aimed to automate every trading aspect. Yet, I lacked the requisite knowledge to construct programming logic capable of executing proficient trades. I was unfamiliar with trading strategies essential for integrating machine learning principles. Additionally, assessing the effectiveness of my trading strategies eluded me. Presently, I continue my pursuit of crafting a successful strategy. However, I have successfully automated data collection and analysis. Both strategy testing and market implementation are now automated. This comprehensive understanding of my path ahead has proven transformative. I also credit the course for introducing me to the concept of building in public. This seemingly straightforward concept has offered me motivation and accountability, propelling me forward not only as a trader but also as an aspiring startup founder.

I was skeptical of the course at first but it was exactly what I was looking for. The course provides the tools and framework that professionals traders use. I recommend the course to anyone trying to get started on quantitative trading but don't know where to start.

The most important thing this course has given me is the confidence to be able to build my own trading strategies down the road. I think we all have that builder inside of us, especially if you've found yourself to Jason's course, but have no framework on how to get from point A all the way to point Z. This course does a great job of doing just that. There's a lot of mindset training in the sense of how to look at a problem, how to think about what it takes to solve that problem, and the minimum amount of tools to do just that so you do not waste money and time on something that will most likely not pan out.

More than happy that I enrolled in the PyQuant cohort. I have a few years of trading experience but am a beginner in programming/quant finance and being part of the PyQuant community has led me down several rabbit holes that have significantly expanded my knowledge base. Also, Jason is super helpful and truly wants to see his students learn and grow. Looking forward to continuing developing my knowledge using what I learned from PyQuant!

I have been working with Python. The courses and notebooks have given me a structure to finding systematic approaches of finding alpha. The discord, live/recorded videos, and written coursework were informative but open enough to lead to further thinking. I think it will help when going through academic papers and applying in Python. Confidence in being able to find alpha. I was not expecting how deep packages like openbb and zip line reloaded are. The coursework has helped me understand and be able to read github repos.

This course helped unlock outcomes because of the community aspect - people asking questions to each other and sharing their code. There were multiple circumstances where I got stuck and was able to pass through by asking questions and leveraging other people's code. One unexpected benefit was learning about information on the web that I had no idea existed. This was a byproduct of the community aspect of the course, which is the biggest differentiator.

I have been trying to get into algorithmic trading for 2 years. After taking this course, I have finally been able to consolidate and focus on what I need. Jason provides what you need to get started correctly and the tools you need to continue developing. I consider it perfect because having lifetime access to the classes and materials allows me to focus on those weak points in Python or quantitative finance. An excellent course for anyone interested in Python for quantitative finance. I could have saved many hours if I had found it earlier.

This is a really superb introduction into the world of Python and quant finance. It really opened my eyes as to what can be achieved at speed in this space using publicly available data and a clear goal. The concept of Minimum Viable Python that is central to this course has completely changed how I think about using coding to solve problems. The course content is extremely comprehensive and thorough. Jason is a great, committed teacher and helped me personally get started. Highly recommend.

I am an actuary, and most of my financial analysis prior to taking this course was primarily using Excel. The course was instrumental in helping get started on my Python journey. I had taken several tutorials before taking this course, it was hard to get projects started because of a lack of framework. This course provided a way for students to come up with tangible problems to solve, as well as a methodology to solve these problems. The course begins from the very basics, and then proceeded at a brisk pace to cover many useful tools and techniques to solve problems in finance. The course unlocked positive outcomes due to the enthusiastic support of the instructor through the course's platform, and detailed guidance of the written materials and code samples. In the weekly video lectures, the instructor goes though in detail each's week's materials and objectives. There is a also a helpful community of students to learn from. An unexpected benefit of taking the course is the enormous amount of additional resources provided by the instructor in terms of references to books and other materials for further study. Another unexpected benefit was having guest speakers such as the founders of OpenBB and ThetaData. They provided additional insight of very difficult problems that can be solved using Python, as well as unlocking a new world of possibilities learning financial analysis through the use of these respective platforms.

This course provided me with valuable insights into the practical application of Python in solving real-world challenges, particularly with Financial data analysis and the development of Trading strategies. One unanticipated advantage of this course was the exposure to the OpenBB SDK within Python and other libraries within the Python Quant stack, which has proven instrumental in optimizing my research capabilities!

Five weeks ago I didn't know what quant finance was and I only knew some basics of Python. It took me as an retail options trader some time (intermediate level) to take the decision to subscribe to and pay for a course given by a presenter (Jason) I had never heard of in a domain I knew nothing about. Since then, a new world has opened to me which will certainly will boost my options trading and that will allow me to reach the Big Goal I set in the beginning of the course. I have not regretted starting this course one second and consider exercising the option to do this as one of the best investment decisions I have taken this year. In addition to access to a high-level community with people from all over the world, and Jason patiently and clearly explaining what actually for most of us are complex subjects in an incredibly short time and in a very structured way, I have received a huge amount of links, tutorials, presentations and other valuable content one can use in becoming a (better) quant. I managed to link to the Interactive Brokers API which for me is already a major win. Next challenges are OpenBB and Zipline. In parallel I read the Python crash course (as recommended) and did Corey Schafer's Python Pandas Tutorial on YouTube. As a noob to algorithmic trading I will need to go back to much of the stuff we got and will certainly continue following the community in Podia and Discord, possible if I have progressed through the stuff I didn't have time to do this month, join another cohort later this year as soon as I master most of the quant stack, and as soon as they are available follow the deep dives Jason intends to present. Thanks very much, Jason!

Getting Started With Python for Quant Finance by @pyquantnews makes it super easy to start learning Python and finance. After some simple background info, I was able to set up Anaconda Navigator, load 10+ quant modules, received pre-coded Jupyter Notebooks with descriptions, and begin working towards a goal of using minimum viable Python for a project. The easiest and fastest start to learning a computer language.

Jason's course provides a lot of value and a great framework to get started with real-world concepts. I've explored most of the quantitative finance courses out there and found this to be the most practical and efficient intro course currently available. By adopting the techniques shown in the course I was able to codify some strats I'd been working on independently and validate some theories that I have applied to my systematic trading. If you want to quickly increase your confidence and productivity with Python applied to trading strategies then take this course.

The best thing about the course was the live sessions and the community; connecting with others and getting encouragement from everyone to continue was a powerful feeling for me. I have no coding experience and no technical background, and I took the course after hours looking and looking for something to connect trading with Python and a fresh approach to a discipline that is mostly a mystery (financial markets). I found this and much more with Jason and the PyQuant community. I would do it again. I went from no direction to having a clearer path in a month. If you feel this way, this might be the course for you.

I'm a Java software developer and I have some experience with Python. I found this course a good introduction to Quant Finance using Python. The author is clearly very knowledgeable about both topics and the lessons are enjoyable. Also the Notebooks provided are very interesting and they are a good stepping stone in order to start building something of your own. I would like that there was a lot more technical depth about back testing and IB API. But he is working on new courses with these subjects. Thanks for the good work Jason. I look forward to the new material.

The course initially appeared to be just an introduction to Python and it's ecosystem for algorithmic trading, which caused some reluctance at the beginning for me when considering to register. I decided to give a try, which I can say was a great decision on my part. As soon as on-boarding week started you quickly realize the content is way more than just basic Python learning experience. Several unique features of this course can be summarized as: encouragement of Jason to put overall thinking process into a framework for identifying an "achievable" goal worth while pursuing and then working towards developing a minimum viable product rather than the most ideal or optimal one. His willingness to share his experiences (what was later referred as "traders war stories") during the interactive sessions rather than hurrying to cover the content was also very valuable. The office hours with him to help with the setup problems or asking questions on topics of interest were very helpful. The guest speakers especially OpenBB developer introducing their platform and having the opportunity to ask question was great experience. Due to a natural disaster happened in my home country in the middle of the course, I couldn't spend the time that I initially planned with Deep Dive notebooks because of the priority shift in trying to help the rescue and relief efforts there remotely as much as possible. Hence, I tried to attend the live sessions at least. However, the session recordings, Jupyter notebooks will be there when I can allocate the time but more importantly there is a community established with like-minded participants, which is great to have for future interactions and collaborations. Thank you Jason.

I was surprised at the level of Python information and quant finance could be covered so expeditiously in such a short course. I had tried other methods to learn Python and barely started before giving up. This course makes it easy to set up a Python framework, prepared code to use always, and a coding structure going forward. Thank you for all of it.

I was surprised at the level of Python information and quant finance could be covered so expeditiously in such a short course. I had tried other methods to learn Python and barely started before giving up. This course makes it easy to set up a Python framework, prepared code to use always, and a coding structure going forward. Thank you for all of it.

This course has connected the dots for me when it comes to truly understanding how Python can assist me in my quantitative quest for improving my market trading performance. I was able to quickly learn how to get up and running and actually achieve output using the MVP approach. An unexpected benefit was connecting with other class members that will be ongoing.

My biggest takeaway from this course is the ability to import large amounts of data and work with different APIs. He guides people that have never programmed from zero experience to placing automated trades all in 30 days. The community is a great aspect of this course as well. You get to meet a lot of amazing people.

Gave me the materials I needed with a mentor to guide me along the way to achieve my end goal of landing an active trader role.

Jason gets straight to the point and avoids all the fluff that will waste a tremendous amount of time. Jupyter Notebook and templates to follow that you could use or replicate and give you an idea of where you want to go.

Great class - to jump start your journey if new to Python or Quant Finance or to add to your skills & resources if you're experienced. Jason is so knowledgeable and provides tons of resources & documentation. I now have a clear path forward & tools to support my trading and investing goals.

This course was a perfect fit for me due to minimal class time and maximum progress with Python. This course is the right balance between developing an understanding of the Python and spring-boarding into results, particularly the Minimum Viable Product approach. One unexpected benefit was the introduction and eye-opening understanding of what the Open BB platform is about. Open BB and Python will become one-stop shopping for my quant finance projects!

The course was a great and really helped me crystallize the value of what I am working on in terms of getting to an MVP, working on it, then learning.

Great framework to learn Python. A lot of insights about investing, building in public and MVP. The unexpected benefit of this course is the mindset - informal, insightful and positive.

The course has helped me start with a foundational basic knowledge of how to solve problems. An insight to quant finance. Community that has the same interests is an added benefit.
