It’s hard to put into words just how much Paul and Danny have changed my life. I was diagnosed with Tarlov Cyst Disease and had major back surgery on my sacral nerves in 2019 that left me physically disabled. Later diagnosed with Lyme Disease in 2022. I went from being a very active, able-bodied yoga teacher, to a fragile individual. For over 4 years I’ve been in pain, felt weak, and struggled to feel safe in my body. You name the treatment, I’ve tried it. Enter NRP…
Paul’s unique approach and methods are unlike anything I’ve encountered before. Under his guidance, I am literally learning how to walk again. He’s teaching me how to move with confident intention, to understand my body’s language and wisdom, and to reclaim the strength I thought was lost. Nerves and muscles are turning back on! I feel more connected to myself and can trust my body again. I have a newfound sense of hope. Paul- a true healer- has given me back my life, and for that, I am eternally grateful.
That’s not to say I don’t have to put in the work! Paul sets the foundation, and Danny helps me apply everything. Danny is an incredibly kind and genuine guy who builds me up each session. He’s attentive and explains things in a way that my body intuitively understands.
NRP has good vibes all around. It’s a place filled with intelligent, passionate, and genuine humans. If I could send every single person to NRP I would!

"Hear from 3 NFL Pros about how NRP has impacted their game and their lives."
In December 2021, I was told by three different back surgeons that I needed a spinal fusion. I was 42 years old.
Spinal stenosis in my lower lumbar left my nerve pathways impinged and the subsequent chain of muscles weakened, leaving me unable to walk or dress myself. Their solution was to drill screws and rods into my spine to create space and free the nerves.
Two weeks before my surgery, I reached out to NRP. Paul quickly found the neurological origin of my weakened pathways and began to remove the soft tissue restrictions freeing my impingenerves. After my first session, I was able to walk, pain free, for the first time in 2 years. When we were confident that the soft tissue issues were resolved, I began working on neuro-activation with Danny.
My work in the gym with Danny was aimed at improving the interaction between my brain, movement receptors, and muscles. When I started, my brain couldn’t tell my body how to hinge, or walk heel to toe. When I was done, I was not only walking, I was climbing mountains.
Last, but certainly not least, is Matt. In October, I suffered a back injury and imaging showed that the spinal stenosis had advanced and osteoarthritis in my spine was now part of my story. Matt began by stimulating the receptors embedded in my muscles and manipulating the soft tissue impinging the associated muscles. In the gym, we worked on holding specific positions and established movement patterns to open the neurological pathways between my muscles and brain. I’m 45 years old and have never been mentally or physically stronger than I am now.
NRP has given me hope, restored my confidence and gave me my life back.

The level of expertise, professionalism and genuine compassion at NRP is unprecedented. As a professional athlete I have received excellent care and healing to enhance my performance, as a mother I have sent all three of my children to be put back together after sports injuries, and as a certified personal trainer I have confidently referred several of my clients struggling with chronic issues to NRP. Regardless of the age, skill, experience, and self-awareness of their clients, the owners and trainers at NRP not only meet clients where they are currently at, they also empower them to exceed their personal health and wellness expectations.

My first meeting with Paul was both humbling and life changing. I had been dealing with muscular related low back pain (MRI was negative) and debilitating glute spasming that was limiting basic daily activity. Paul was able to assess and give me the hard truth that my movement patterns were a mess and my issues were only going to get worse unless I started making changes. An avid workout guy, hearing that I had been doing it wrong all these years was hard to hear, but I bought in, re-learned fundamentals from the ground up and slowly got out of pain and walking upright. My day job won’t allow me to be perfect but I have enough tools now to keep myself on the right path and continue to build strength while stacked on the right neuromuscular pathways. Highly recommend!

NRP is truly a life changing place. Every trainer there is extremely knowledgeable-Paul, Matt, Danny, Ray, Matt M, and Justin. They are capable of working with all kinds of people from elite athletes to older people who have body pain. NRP is like a family, every person who comes there is treated so well, and that is part of what keeps me coming back day after day. The equipment there is all very up to date, and another thing I love about training here is the innovation in workouts. Paul is able to come up with such unique exercises that make you say “wow I have never seen that before” and he’s able to explain it so well. I have recommended NRP to just about any person who complains about any sort of body pain/soreness due to everything I listed above. This place is truly special, and I believe those who don’t come here are truly missing out! I am so grateful for this place and for all of the people who make it so great!

Paul Matthews and his team have been amazing. Paul was able to determine my son’s injury within 5 minutes and even more impressive the treatment and rehab have been extremely effective. My son was back to his sport in a very short time and now has been coached on how to move and compete safely and is on the road to being stronger than ever. Prior to seeing Paul we had gone to regular physical therapy which was not going anywhere and actually compounding the issue. Paul is truly a nerve guru and his passion and expertise is unmatched. Danny has been instrumental in my son’s rehab being patient, encouraging and full of knowledge. Thank you!

NRP is unlike any other rehab facility I’ve been treated at. They don’t just try to fix your injury, they assess how you got it in the first place and make sure it doesn’t happen again. I compete in CrossFit and was working towards being a Games Athlete (world championships). I injured my back terribly and lifting any weight was extremely painful. I was sure my dream of competing at the games was over. Then I started being treated by Matt Gentle. He physically worked on my back (and other issues as needed). We also worked on everything from how to lift the bar to my feet placement. He even met and collaborated with my coach to help improve my movements. Also, shoutout to Ray for helping improve some of my gymnastics skills which are imperative in CrossFit moves. I’m thrilled to say that not only did I qualify for the Games this year but I took top five and a stage win! I’m certain that without Matt and his team this wouldn’t have been possible. I’m so grateful for everything they’ve done for me 🙏 I highly recommend NRP for all age ranges and abilities!

My experience at NRP has been amazing. Back in 2020, I came to NRP as an inexperienced freshman looking to get involved in a gym. From that point on I can say there isn’t another place that can offer the experience NRP provides. From being able to work with the fantastic training staff, to working out solo the time I’ve spent at NRP has transformed me into a new person.

NRP is incredible - truly life-changing. I have seen drastic improvements in my core strength and balance. The chronic pain I had in my hip and legs is gone. I can now play paddle pain-free and am performing better in my 50's than I was able to in my 40's. NRP works and I would strongly recommend it!

NRP is a life changing method and place for people who want to maximize their body and brain potential that dramatically improves their life! I've seen a lot of health/wellness modalities over my lifetime and it's very impressive.
You'll see people of all ages with various goals at NRP: Kids/teens through professional athletes improving their physical performance. Adults of all ages successfully avoiding surgery and achieving pain free living and results when nothing else worked.
Paul is incredibly knowledgeable and revolutionary in his approach. He brings an additional layer to training with his deep expertise in the nervous system and the human body. I also work with Danny and find him to be a very knowledge and attentive trainer. NRP is a unique, cutting edge approach you can trust.

Been going to Paul at NRP for many years. While many people go to him to help with an injury recovery (which they swear by), I have gone to learn how to train and workout in a proper manner. The last thing I wanted to do was to spend all of the time at the gym doing the same thing wrong, over and over. He and his team are great for teaching how to workout the right way for purposes of longevity, mobility and stability (he preaches it). And I have had both of my boys train with him and his team early on in their athletic career to learn how to properly workout and train for success in their chosen sport (lacrosse). NRP keeps evolving, adding in new equipment, methodologies and techniques to accomplish your goals which is exactly what I want in a trainer.

In March of this year, I experienced my third herniated disc, specifically the S1 (with L4 and L5 having troubled me previously). Unlike my earlier two herniations, this one brought not only intense back pain but also tingling and numbness coursing down my leg. It became excruciating to sit, stand, put on socks, or even shoes, and I found myself stumbling as I walked. The pain, on a scale of 1 to 10, was a relentless 9.
Desperate for relief, I rushed to the ER where a battery of tests and scans revealed not just another herniation but also severe nerve damage causing foot drop. Surgery loomed on the horizon, but I was determined to explore alternative options. I consulted multiple physicians, tried various therapies, including massages, stimulation, chiropractic care, and stretching, but none seemed to make a significant difference. As time passed, the doctors' warnings grew graver: I had a mere 4-6 months to find a solution, or risk permanent nerve damage.
It was during this precarious period that I reached out to Paul. On my initial visit, he delved into a thorough examination, asking insightful questions, assessing my movement, and palpating my muscles, nerves, and bones. Paul concurred with the previous diagnoses of herniation and nerve issues, but he offered something invaluable - hope. He assured me that we could bypass surgery and recover not only from the pain but also from the nerve damage. Surgery might provide immediate relief, but it wasn't the long-term solution. Paul enlightened me by explaining that the herniation was a symptom, not the root cause; it lay in my movement patterns. By focusing on the way I sit, stand, and walk, I could address the underlying problem to prevent it from recurring.
When I embarked on this journey with Paul in April, my pain level hovered around a debilitating 9.5, and walking was a painful struggle. Fast forward 7 months, and I've steered clear of surgery, resumed playing recreational sports, and weightlifting multiple days a week. I've gained the ability to self-correct my posture and movement patterns, thanks to the invaluable insights and techniques I've learned from Paul and the NRP Protocol.
If you're seeking to avoid surgery, gain a deeper understanding of how to avert future issues, and regain control of your movement, I wholeheartedly recommend reaching out to Paul and the rest of the NRP team. Their expertise and commitment have truly been life changing.
