I highly rate this course and could not have been more pleased with the decision to enrol. There was so much learning and opportunity to apply that learning to current leadership challenges. I am using the frameworks, tools and insights every day. Alicia is a great teacher, and weaves together a real world understanding of the issues we are facing, and real world strategies to address challenges. An extra bonus with this course was the opportunity to meet and connect with a great group of people, who are all grappling with 'same, same but different' issues - there were so many insights and I was deeply humbled by the opportunity to meet such a committed and thoughtful group of people. naMBA allowed me to truly explore what is holding me back and what I can do to push forward as a leader. The tools were practical and delivered with such clarity. naMBA is a course that should be base line professional development in all organisations. Practical useable tools lie at heart - naMBA helps you manage boundaries, set priorities, apply systems thinking and communicate with impact. Added bonus - Alicia provides a masterclass in facilitation with her empathetic no nonsense style and skilled use of tech. If you have any doubts about the effectiveness of online development, be prepared to be blown away.

High energy, great content, good use of breakout rooms (scribe and paste in chat is a great idea for breakout rooms), allowed people to get involved as much as they wanted to, meeting new people.

I was interested to see how Alicia could deliver naMBA in an online forum after reading her book some 18 months ago. Alongide this, I was keen to connect with a different cross section of leaders to understand if the challenges I had were similar and lastly but most importantly, reinspire my leadership journey. Alicia’s ability to be totally relatable and create a truly safe environment where we all felt comfortable being uncomfortable sharing our vulnerabilities as leaders was super powerful, especially on using an online platform. There were plenty of take aways from the programme, the biggest for me was having the opportunity to reflect on my leadership journey to date, using the curriculum videos, the sprint discussions and of course the assignments have been super powerful in dealing with the grief and feeling of loss after recently coming out the wrong side of a restructure. To be reinvigorated and to have the fire in my belly restoked to continue my leadership journey. For me this quote was a game changer: “You have nothing left to prove. You are infinitely employable and incredibly valuable. With the stress of proving yourself out of the way... what do you really want?”. If you are looking for a programme that will connect you with like minded individuals, cuts out that crap, provides opportunity for self-reflection and growth, this could be the tonic that you need.

Alicia is super skilled at crafting every interaction in this course to be value-added. From the book, the videos, the sprints, assignments and interactions with rest of the cohort, students are left with a dizzying array of helpful tools and advice, that can be (and have been) put to use immediately. The best part about this course for me was the wonderful cohort who were so very generous with their stories, through this we were able to draw deeper to gain even more from our own assignments and each other's. I was able to elicit meaningful change in my work and in myself, and encourage others to do the same. I finished with a massive toolkit, new knowledge and how to apply it, a sense of renewal and an incredibly talented and diverse cohort whom I am sure will continue to learn from and celebrate each other.

NaMBA was on my list after following (a bit like stalking) Alicia for a while, and since I've done an MBA, then I guess I needed to explore and find out why I didn't need one! Leadership doesn't come with a handbook and at the foundation of leadership is a person, so it made a lot of sense to take a good look at how we tick. Alicia and the NaMBA didn't disappoint, providing key avenues and ways to dive into our values and make boundaries that you know you will live by. I now will look at prolems as a system, rather than at a people, and try to be a systems leader, because most people are doing their best and it may be the environment and parts of that system that are failing us. The best thing was the Law of Systems and the broccoli - the aligned message at all levels of the system, connected at connection points, not just dwelling on our core purpose. If we don't share and get on the same page the broccoli is only good for stirfry!!

I was feeling a bit stuck in my career. I knew I needed to develop my strategic thinking but couldn't find anything that clicked. Then along came Alicia. I stumbled across one of her posts on LinkedIn and immediately clicked with her approach and signed up to NaMBA. I'm the crazy Scot who joined at midnight on a Sunday evening to 3am on Monday morning! Don't let the time difference get in the way. NaMBA will push you to great places. I learned more in 8 weeks that I have in my 20+ year career, not just about strategic thinking but about me, who I am, what direction do I want to go in and what makes me tick. Alicia is an incredible coach/facilitator. I have real clarity now in the direction I want to take and how I'm going to get there, all down to Alicia and the amazing NaMBA cohort. Don't hesitate, make the commitment. You won't regret it.

What an amazing group of people and what a mind-blowing course. I wouldn't have believed how transformational eight weeks could be. I thought I'd cruise along. I thought I knew strategy stuff, was maybe a bit cynical about what I'd get out of it. But then I hadn't come across Alicia McKay. What an inspirational, scarily brilliant, warm, funny human being. I'm very happy to be a NaMBA cheerleader - anybody wanting to get deeper into strategic leadership (and your own self-analysis!) should sign up. I thought this strategic leadership thing was something I should sharpen my pencil. I know there's a few of you probably feeling the same way. Having found myself on the edges of this at work I wanted to know more so I could contribute more. I started my search and stumbled across a post from Alicia McKay on LinkedIn. Her no bulls**t, common sense approach drew me in. I then read her book (You don't need an MBA) whilst exploring her naMBA course curriculum. Mind blown I knew this was exactly what I needed. So what happened next? I signed up to 8 weeks, 8 sprints, 11pm-2am every Sunday evening as Alicia is 12 hours ahead of me in Wellington, NZ. My initial objective was to fly low, be that guy in the back row taking notes, copying a few diagrams I could maybe use to dazzle my colleagues at work. I see a few of you nodding along. How wrong was I? What a privilege it has been to learn from the strategic leadership force of nature that is Alicia McKay and get to know a cohort of simply beautiful people. This was by no means a text book course. I've been stretched further than I ever imagined, reflected personally, affirmed my leadership brand, asked better questions, explored systems leadership, systems laws, story telling with the amazing Shane Michael Hatton, performance and so, so much more. It was an honour to be selected as 1 of 4 to present my journey to the rest of the cohort on our last sprint. Each and everyone of my fellow naMBA's left a huge impression on me personally and it was just wonderful to see each and everyone of them develop over the 8 weeks. I saw clarity, quiet assured confidence in them all, belief that they are enough and deserve to be the leader they want to be. For anyone, who was like me searching for the next level in strategic development this is a must do. Thank you to Alicia and my fellow naMBA's, it's been a career defining experience.

naMBA is gold! I went into naMBA looking for ways to do things differently as I moved from a people leader to an advisor role. Right from day one I knew this was going to be something special - I literally felt like my brain had been prised open and was so excited about what was coming. The content is outstanding, thought provoking, interesting and useful. I use the course resources all the time and while I certainly haven't nailed all the lessons I do use the tools, knowledge and theories to think about work and problems differently.
