Currently on 7/12 of @jsjoeio Vim for VS Code course. Feels like a jackpot to be getting some handle on Vim above the only commands I normally knew(i and esc). Can't wait to be actively using it in my workflow.
@jsjoeio Going through vimforvscode.com right now (actually using @oni_vim, sorry 😏). It feels ridiculous at first, to have this many exercises for the basic movement keys. But after half an hour I gotta say: You have created an excellent learning resource here. Thanks!
just checked out this Vim course. It's excellent! Gives many exercises so you can use spaced repetition to build muscle memory. And the format is innovative - it is taught RIGHT INSIDE VS @CODE!
By the end I was channeling my inner @ryanflorence and flying across the screen 🦸🏽♂️ twitter.com/jsjoeio/status/1301923290529714176
I just finished this Vim course. It is very well done and I managed to learn a lot.
I started my second semester of Computer Science and by the end of it, I should be able to use vim like a pro. All thanks to Joe.
Everyone knows that Joe is an excellent teacher but really impresses me about him is his ability to create a sense of community. Being a junior developer, Joe is someone that I know I can go to for help or advice whenever something comes up. His empathy and willingness to help others is something you can't teach. And it shows in his Vim for VSCode course
Joe has done a fantastic job at compiling all the Vim commands you need to learn to become a code editing wizard. 🧙 You'll go from navigating files effectively to doing advanced edits with a few key presses in no time.
