As summer comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on how I spent my time. Looking back, I realize that much of it wasn’t directed toward anything particularly productive. It reminded me of how focused I was in 2023, and of several books that played a key role in helping me maintain discipline and clarity during that time. Since then, I’ve discovered a few additional titles that I will be adding to the completed shelf! I didn’t change my job. I changed my identity. A week ago, I never imagined I’d be building apps. Today, I’ve built two. I picked up the Whatever It Takes Journal by Brandon Bornancin a few days ago—and honestly, I’ve been putting off writing in it. Not because I don’t want to use it… but because it’s that well done and I don't want to write in it and ruin it. Crazi I Know. Every day starts with two quotes—simple, timeless reminders like: “Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life.” — Steve Jobs What really impressed me is how practical it is. On one side: Daily goals, tasks, wins, gratitude, lessons learned, and what you’ll do tomorrow. On the other: Activity and discipline—workout, steps, water, sleep, nutrition, reading. Not just did you read, but how long, how many pages, and the takeaway. I read every day, but I’ve never tracked it that intentionally. I will now. You also rate the day (good, great, amazing) and note what to improve. I start using it tomorrow—and I can already tell it’s going to sharpen my focus. Highly recommend it.

Have you ever read a book and thought - WOW I hope everyone knows about this book? Well I LOVE to read (Thank You Kindle Reader) and I want to share with you what I just finished. "CONFIDENTIAL: Sales Secrets" By 🔥 Brandon Bornancin 🔥 Now, I know what you're thinking - Ugh another book about sales... okay I'm with you. BUT I found this on a list about Sales and Service must reads, and it didn't break the bank on Amazon so I thought I give it a shot - and while I'll read all different styles of books this one lends it self to even those who only have a short attention span (you know who you are - you may not have even made it this far in the post). This book is like mini interview with some the best Sales Gurus out there. Each little chapter tells you about the Sales Superstar before it dives into them basically laying out what they think is the most important tip they can give you about Sales. WHAT??? It was eye opening, educational, and fun to read. Its the first time in a while I pulled out my notebook to TAKE NOTES on a leisure read. The advice was that good. Seriously. I even started creating little mini lessons for my team at work based on what I learned - whether or not they appreciated it - that's on them. But I was inspired by all these amazing viewpoints. Men, Women, some educated in colleges, some at just in the school of hard knocks. Rock stars of the sales industry just telling you all their best stuff - and it was advice that really improved my service, not just my sales! We so often forget that great sales comes from great service - okay maybe not in the case of the guy from Wolf of Wall Street - but most of the people. This got me excited to talk to my next member - to see how I could source out their needs, be a better listener, connect with them on a personal level and build trust - and how that's not always easy - but that I'm certainly not alone. I also love the common theme that failure doesn't mean the end. Sometimes you have to fail to find out what works. Failures are just an opportunities, they make up the tapestry of our own "sales story" - they help us learn, grow and change and sometimes they even help us close the deal.
